The White House joins Google+, invites you to Hangout

President Obama may have been on Google+ since November, but the administration is now stepping up its presence on the social network even further in anticipation of next week's State of the Union address and the forthcoming presidential campaign. It now has an official White House Google+ page, where it plans to post the usual news, photos and videos, and also host regular Hangout video chats. There's no promises yet that the President himself will take part, but the White House says it will regularly have administration officials and policy experts take part in the conversations, which will also be streamed on YouTube and WhiteHouse.gov.

Google outs new tilt and roll Maps game, promotes Google+

If you weren't in the know on Google Earth's flight simulator easter egg, rest assured that Google's next map-centric game will be entirely public. A new promotional video pimping Google+ Games invites you to "play your world" by cubing a mapped area of the Earth, and dropping a ball into it. Tilt and roll -- not the most complex game ever, but novel to say the least.

T-mobile G2 Review: unboxing & first impressions, Designed by HTC w/ Google

I love it when the mailman delivers new gadgets! The T-Mobile G2 (by HTC) arrived today and I’m here to share with you my first impressions. I purchased the devices from Amazon for only $79 with a new 2-year contract. I was previously on T-mobile’s prepaid monthly plan, but figured to sign up for the contract since I’ve been really happy with their service in New York City. The T-mobile G2 is the first smartphone delivering 4G speeds on T-Mobile’s superfast HSPA+ network. The phone is designed by HTC and is the highly anticipated successor to the T-Mobile G1, the world’s first Android powered mobile phone. It has a 3.7-inch screen with a unique hinge design that opens to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard. On the back is a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and autofocus. The G2 is built on Android 2.2 and has deep integration with Google services such as Gmail, Voice, Google Search, Maps, Calendar, Places, and so on. Thousands of apps are also available at the Android Market. I really like that entering my Gmail account during device setup automatically pulls in my contacts and calendar entries too. I’ve compared the size of the T-mobile G2 with other phones that can be used on T-Mobile’s network. I show the Samsung Vibrant, Google Nexus One, and the Nokia N8. The G2 was the thickest of the four because of the keyboard. The G2 also felt heavier. I like the keyboard on the T-mobile G2. There’s lots of space for the buttons at the top row and the tactile feedback is excellent
