WiFi Connected but no Internet Access

My WiFi eventually stops working. It's been working fine for two months but for these last two weeks, it would not connect to any wifi network, regardless if it were home, someone else's home, or even the wifi at my school.

Disabling the Lock Screen

None of the apps I've tried from the Market have worked, so I'm wondering if there's a file somewhere I can either change permissions on, rename to a .bak file or some other form of hackery in order to disable the lock screen.

[Q] Two questions as I try to organize myself before rooting

So I've done a few roots before but each time I always do the same research, going through all of the guides and making sure I'm fully aware of everything that could factor in before proceeding (one bad experience'll do that to ya). I'm pretty sure I have everything together and just have three questions before I begin: 1) I have an AT&T Galaxy SII but am not sure whether or not I have the UCKK6 over the air update. How would I go about checking this?
